New York - Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said, "During the ceasefire, the United Nations demonstrated that we have the capacity to deliver aid safely and on a large scale to reach people wherever they are."
Sam Rose, Director of UNRWA Affairs, confirmed in a press statement that "current distribution methods do not meet the urgent humanitarian needs in Gaza, especially for the sick, the elderly, and the wounded."
He added, "UNRWA runs the largest continuous UN food distribution operation in the world, and supplies are ready."
He stressed, "What we need is access to deliver aid directly to those in need. There is no time to waste."
