Hajjah – Saba:
Abdulwahab Sinan, representing the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit in Hajjah governorate, on Sunday reviewed the progress of several community-led projects in Bani al-Awam district.
Accompanied by the unit's assessment specialist, Engineer Ramah Shamsan, and the unit's district official, Mohammed Qatran, Sinan inspected the paving and widening project of the Qa'a al-Salahi al-Batahi Wadi La'ah road, which is 96 percent complete.
This 9-kilometer road project, costing 20 million and 110 thousand YER, is supported by the governorate's local authorities, the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit, and community leader Aziz Awad. It involves the construction, surveying, and expansion of the road, which will connect Hajjah Governorate with al--Rujum district in Mahweet governorate.
Sinan emphasized the road's importance in linking the two governorates, shortening travel distances and easing logistical challenges.
He highlighted the focus of the local authorities and the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit on road projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
The team also reviewed the project to survey and expand the 7-kilometer Maghribat Dahm road via Qahtan, linking Bani al-Awam District with al-Shaghadrah district. This project, with a total cost of 7 million and 751 thousand riyals, is supported by the local authorities and the Interventions and Community Unit and is now 100 percent complete.
The visitors, along with Khaled Naji, Executive Director of the Bani al- Awam Agricultural Cooperative Society, were briefed on the proposed establishment of a water collection tank for the local authority in the district and the potential for the Interventions Unit to support this project.
