Afar Customs Center thwarted on Thursday an attempt to smuggle a quantity of foreign raisins amounting to one ton and 33 kilograms.
Center Director Fahd Hazza explained that the quantity of raisins discovered was tightly hidden in bags inside cartons among bananas.
He praised the vigilance of the customs officers for their efforts and their ability to discover the smuggled quantity, stressing that the center will spare no effort in fulfilling its national duties and thwarting attempts to smuggle various goods.
