The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stressed that the crisis in Gaza cannot be addressed by exploiting humanitarian aid to advance political and military agendas.

In a press statement on Wednesday, Lazzarini explained that the aid distribution mechanism proposed by Israel does not meet humanitarian standards, emphasizing that the blockade on Gaza is killing people, and that food and aid that could save the people of Gaza have rotted at the border.
