Sana’a - Saba:
Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi participated today in the opening of the 5th Scientific Conference of the Yemeni Association of ENT Doctors, and the first for the Department of ENT at the Faculty of Medicine, Sana’a University, which will run for two days.
Al-Rahwi congratulated the organizers on holding the conference, describing it as a significant scientific event aligned with the vibrant research activity across Yemeni universities in “Revolutionary Sana’a”, the stronghold of steadfastness and unity.
He praised the leadership of Sana’a University, the Faculty of Medicine, and the association, as well as all participating doctors, academics, and researchers from Yemen and abroad. The conference coincides with the 35th anniversary of Yemen’s unity, which the Yemeni people recently celebrated—except for a few traitors, he said, who continue seeking division and a return to a dark past of conflict and bloodshed.
Al-Rahwi criticized the international community’s double standards, pointing out that while the world affirms the unity of some nations, it actively seeks to fragment Yemen—a plan, he stressed, that will not succeed.
He referred to mass women-led protests in Aden, Abyan, and Hadramaut, demanding unity despite 10 years of occupation by Saudi and Emirati forces. He stated that the occupiers not only failed to improve living conditions but also failed to maintain previous service levels.
On the situation in Gaza, he condemned the genocidal war and massacres against children committed by the Israeli enemy. He commended the resilience of the people of Gaza and denounced U.S. humanitarian aid as a deceptive attempt to whitewash complicity and humiliate Palestinians. He noted that of the 400 aid centers that once operated, only four now serve 2 million people.
Al-Rahwi reaffirmed Yemen’s unwavering stance in support of Gaza, led by Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, presenting a unique and genuine model of religious and moral solidarity. He warned that today’s Israeli airstrike on Sana’a International Airport would only strengthen Yemen’s resolve to continue missile strikes against the enemy until the aggression stops, the blockade is lifted, and food and medical aid reach Gaza.
He expressed hope that the conference would be a success and yield practical scientific outcomes that improve local medical services, reducing the need for Yemenis to travel abroad for treatment.
Speeches were also delivered by Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Sheiban, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem Al-Daees, and ENT Association President Dr. Mohammed Al-Muhibshi, all of whom emphasized the importance of this conference in advancing this critical medical specialty.
The conference will discuss papers and latest research on ear, nose, and throat diseases, enriching professional knowledge and improving clinical practices.
The event was attended by Sana’a University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Military Hospital Director Dr. Abbas Najm Al-Din, his deputy Dr. Mohammed Mazayqar, and other officials and medical professionals from the Ministries of Education, Research, Health, and relevant institutions.
