Sana'a – Saba:
The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights has strongly condemned the Zionist enemy's targeting of Sana'a International Airport with over four airstrikes.
In a statement, the Ministry asserted that the attack, which damaged airport infrastructure, air navigation facilities, and destroyed a Yemen Airways civilian aircraft (the fifth since the last attack), is a clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the law of armed conflict.
The Ministry considers this action a war crime under the Rome Statute and a violation of international agreements, particularly the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.
It highlighted that the aggression has halted all Yemen Airways flights, preventing thousands of civilians, including the ill, from traveling via their only destination, Jordan.
The Ministry called upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to explicitly condemn these violations, bring the perpetrators before the International Criminal Court, compensate Yemen for damages, and establish an international mechanism to prevent future targeting of civilian facilities.
The Ministry stated that the continued lack of accountability for Israel encourages further violations and threatens world peace. It affirmed Yemen's right to self-defense against war crimes, as outlined in international law.
