New York - Saba:
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned of a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, as a result of the comprehensive ban imposed by the Israeli occupation on the entry of humanitarian and commercial goods.
Farhan Haq, deputy spokesperson for the United Nations, noted at the daily press briefing in New York that the organization's partners reported that approximately 454,000 meals were prepared today, compared to 838,000 meals yesterday.
He added: "Since late April, more than 80 kitchens have been forced to close due to supply shortages, and the number is constantly increasing. This is exacerbating widespread hunger in Gaza, where the ready-to-eat meals provided by these kitchens are one of the last remaining lifelines for the population."
