Israeli media reported that a large number of officers and soldiers had previously announced their intention to refuse to comply with the call-up orders for military service, as the Israeli army prepares to expand its operations in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli i24 channel added that these soldiers and officers informed their commanders before the call-up orders were issued that they would not participate in the upcoming round of fighting.
