Sana'a (Saba) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer sent a letter to the President of the Security Council for April 2025 and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
The letter included a demand that the Security Council assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security and condemns the barbaric US aggression against the Republic of Yemen.
The letter also included Yemen's complaint against the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNIVM) regarding the delay in issuing permits for ships carrying food and containers and their prolonged stay in the port of Djibouti.
The letter called on the Security Council and the Secretary-General to cancel the verification and inspection mechanism, as there is no longer any justification for its continuation, or at the very least, to carry out its responsibilities according to specific timetables and a simplified operating mechanism that ensures the prompt arrival of food and containers.
