Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting chaired by Yemen’s Minister of Information, Hashem Sharafuddin, discussed on Tuesday in Sana'a the workflow of media institutions and their performance during the current phase amid the American-Zionist escalation against Gaza and Yemen.

The meeting, attended by Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukaiti, Acting Head of the Board of the Revolution Institution for Press, Printing, Publishing Ahmed Rasae, media institution leaders, explored ways to enhance media efforts and deliver Yemen’s message in multiple foreign languages to global audiences.

The session reviewed strategies to achieve a qualitative shift in national media production, aligning with regional developments, international changes, and the ongoing U.S. aggression against Yemen, as well as the Zionist enemy’s intensified war on Gaza. It also addressed countering the misleading propaganda of enemy media and its mercenaries.

Minister Sharafuddin emphasized the importance of sustaining active media efforts, enhancing foreign-language output, and conveying Yemen’s message regarding the horrific crimes committed by the U.S. enemy through its targeting of civilians, residential areas, and civilian infrastructure in Yemen.

He noted that the current phase demands redoubled efforts to confront the aggression-backed media machine, expose its crimes , schemes, and improve media performance across languages to effectively influence global public opinion.

"Traditional media does not effectively reach international audiences," he said. "While its role remains important, today’s era is largely defined by digital media and social platforms, requiring adaptation to these developments."

Sharafuddin expressed hope for strengthening media translation and producing multilingual content to amplify Yemen’s visual, audio, and written messaging to wider foreign audiences.

He highlighted the critical role of translated materials in delivering factual information and urged media professionals to leverage digital platforms and social media, ensuring content is accessible in multiple languages.

The minister also stressed the need to train journalists in foreign-language communication, utilizing expertise from Sana'a University’s Faculty of Languages and the Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

He called for activating English-language press conferences and other measures to deliver impactful media messaging.

Additionally, he urged wider dissemination of translated content on social media to expose U.S. and Israeli crimes in Yemen and Gaza.

Sharafuddin expressed optimism about enhancing coordination with the Islamic Broadcasting Union (IBU) and engaging with international media to cover Yemen’s official and popular movements in support of Gaza and Palestine.

Deputy Minister Al-Bukaiti emphasized the importance of coordination between official and national media outlets amid the escalating U.S.-Zionist aggression against Yemen and Palestine.

He noted that the current battle requires greater focus on delivering Yemen’s media message in foreign languages, building on existing expertise and the legendary resilience of the Yemenis against U.S.-Israeli global arrogance.

Ahmed Rasae, Acting Chairman of the Revolution Institution, announced the launch of an English-language section on its website, "Al-Thawra Net," to translate news reports, reinforcing efforts to convey Yemen’s media message abroad.

He called for enhanced coordination among media institutions to develop purposeful multilingual content and adapt to evolving media demands.

The meeting concluded with extensive discussions, underscoring the commitment to improving media performance and coordination.
