World Food Programme warns of growing danger in Gaza due to severe food shortage
[Sun, 20 Apr 2025 19:44:23 +0300]

Rome - Saba:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has warned of the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, confirming that approximately two million people, the majority of whom are displaced Palestinians, are currently living without any source of income and are entirely dependent on humanitarian aid to secure their basic food needs.

In a series of statements issued over the past few hours, the program warned of what it described as a "growing danger" threatening hundreds of thousands of residents of the Strip, in light of the severe dwindling food stocks, which portends an imminent humanitarian disaster.

The program indicated that this dangerous situation coincides with the continued closure of border crossings, which completely obstructs the arrival of essential food supplies into the besieged Strip. It emphasized that Gaza is in dire need of an immediate, continuous, and uninterrupted flow of food to avoid a complete collapse in food security.
