The Palestinian Commission Against the Wall and Settlements confirmed on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation authorities intend to expand the "Etz Efraim" settlement, built on the lands of the villages of Mas'ha (Salfit) and Saniriya (Qalqilya), by establishing a new settlement neighborhood comprising 192 units on an area of 32 dunams.
The head of the commission, Mu'ayyad Shaaban, explained that the new plan is part of an unprecedented acceleration in the pace of construction of settlement neighborhoods separate from existing settlement blocs, aimed at seizing more Palestinian land.
He pointed out that the occupation approved 16 master plans and submitted 29 others last March, targeting a total of approximately 3,280 dunams of West Bank land, including Jerusalem.
