Spain's second seed Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 point tennis tournament, beating Germany's world number 84 Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 6-1.
According to AFP on Thursday, in only his second appearance in the Principality tournament, where he lost his first and only match before this edition in 2022 at the hands of American Sebastian Korda, Alcaraz reached the quarterfinals by beating German Daniel Altmaier.
While Norway's Kasper Rode IV, Britain's Jack Draper V and Russia's Andrey Rublev VII said goodbye in the third round.
Alcaras, 21, hopes to put behind him his season, which has been a stumbling block so far, as the winner of four Grand Slam titles was limited to one title and was on hard courts at the Rotterdam tournament two months ago.
