Sana'a - Saba:
The Yemeni private sector has strongly condemned the US administration's recent classifications and sanctions targeting Yemeni businessmen, including head of the Sana'a Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ali Mohammed al-Hadi.
During a meeting with journalists on Saturday, Yemeni business leaders denounced the sanctions, asserting their neutrality in the ongoing conflict and their adherence to a 2016 declaration of neutrality.
They criticized the US Treasury's sanctions against al-Hadi as "illegal" and "based on false charges," emphasizing that their international business trips are solely for economic purposes, aiming to support the Yemeni economy and alleviate the population's suffering.
Businessmen highlighted the detrimental impact of these sanctions on Yemen's humanitarian and economic situation, given the country's heavy reliance on imports for food and medicine. They called on the US Treasury to immediately remove Ali al-Hadi from the sanctions list.
