New York - Saba:
Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said that the Israeli occupation authorities' denial of entry to the Gaza Strip for international journalists since the beginning of the aggression is a "ban on reporting the truth."
In a post on the X platform on Saturday, Lazzarini considered the denial of entry to Gaza for international journalists since the beginning of the war to be unprecedented in any other conflict in modern history.
He stressed that these practices amount to a ban on reporting the truth from the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the practices of the occupation authorities against journalists, especially international ones, are "the perfect recipe for fueling media disinformation, deepening polarization, and obscuring humanity."
Lazzarini called for the "lifting of the ban" imposed on international media outlets in the Gaza Strip, for international journalists to be allowed to work and report independently from the Strip, and for support for their Palestinian colleagues who continue to carry out their heroic work, paying a heavy price.
