The Russian Defense Ministry announced today, Tuesday, that its air defense systems destroyed 40 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory last night.

Sputnik Agency quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying in a statement: "Last night, attempts by the Kiev regime to carry out terrorist attacks using drones against targets on Russian territory were stopped."

The statement added: "The air defense systems on duty destroyed 40 Ukrainian drones, 18 drones over the territory of Saratov Province, 13 drones over the territory of Rostov Province, six drones over the territory of Bryansk Province, two over the territory of Volgograd Province, and one over the territory of Belgorod Province."

The Ukrainian Armed Forces target, on an almost daily basis, the Russian border areas in Crimea and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh provinces with drones and missiles.
