British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the dispatch of a new air defense system to Ukraine.

Starmer's announcement came during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, Reuters reported.

According to Starmer, the characteristics of the new system "will meet the needs of Ukraine."

Starmer also pledged to supply Ukraine with 150 cannons, noting that this equipment "will arrive in Ukraine within the next few weeks."

Addressing Zelensky, Starmer added: "We will work with you and all our allies to take steps decisive enough to ensure Ukraine's security, and we will play our part fully."

The British Ministry of Defence has announced that Britain and its allies will send 30,000 new drones to Ukraine.

A statement posted on the British government's website on Thursday said: "Ukraine will be supplied with 30,000 new drones, as a result of £45m contracts concluded by the UK-led and Latvian International Drone Coalition.
