The Iranian Revolutionary Guards unveiled on Thursday its latest suicide drone that roams the skies, named "Radwan", and has a range of 20 kilometers, during the "Great Prophet (PBUH)" 19 maneuvers.
Tasnim International News Agency reported today that "Radwan" drone has become ready for operation and is characterized by its ability to fly for 20 minutes.
The drone contains a camera installed in its front that transmits images directly to the user after it is launched from a cylindrical launch platform, allowing the user to choose the target and direct the drone to attack it.
The advantages of "Radwan" drone include:
Operation range: 20 kilometers.
Flight duration: 20 minutes.
Ease of use: the drone provides a quick and easy operational capability, which enhances the capabilities of rapid response units in confronting terrorist groups, especially in rugged geographical areas such as mountains.
Tasnim reported that "loitering munitions" are usually used in land warfare, where they are launched via optical and thermal systems to detect and destroy targets.
This category of weapons also has the ability to conduct reconnaissance operations and precise strikes against ambushes, making it an ideal choice for ground forces due to its small size and the ability to be carried by individuals.
