Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the match that brought them together last night, at the "New Tottenham" stadium, as part of the 20th round of the English Premier League.
Tottenham's only goal came from a header by Dominic Solanke in the fourth minute, then thanks to Anthony Gordon's goal from a ground shot from close range, Newcastle equalized in the sixth minute, and in the (38) minute, Alexander Isak scored Newcastle's second goal; to achieve its fifth consecutive victory in the league.
With this result, Newcastle's balance rose to 35 points, equalizing with Chelsea, the fourth-placed team, while Tottenham remained in 11th place with 24 points.
Liverpool leads the standings "with a postponed match" so far with 45 points, followed by Arsenal with 39 points, then Nottingham Forest with 37 points and Chelsea with 35 points.
