Gaza - Saba:
United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs spokesman (OCHA) Jens Laerke on Friday confirmed that the current situation regarding humanitarian affairs in the Gaza Strip is still catastrophic, as the developments of the bloody events in Gaza have led to these serious repercussions.
Laerke said in a statement "The violent bombing operations, which led to the death of hundreds of civilians, in addition to the evacuation orders issued by the "Israeli" forces in many areas, have led to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in those areas; therefore, the situation is very dangerous in Gaza."
He added that the current situation in the Gaza Strip requires urgent intervention to provide urgent humanitarian aid and needs to all areas of the Strip, as there is a need for food and clean water and the need for shelters and safe havens, stressing the need to apply protection against harsh weather factors in these difficult times; "How can the displaced live in weak tents that cannot provide them with protection and protection from the cold?"
Laerke called for supporting the humanitarian aspects in Gaza and creating safe conditions and paths for implementing humanitarian and relief operations; "Therefore, there is an urgent need for a ceasefire and a halt to military operations in all their forms in all areas within the Strip, because without that, humanitarian aid cannot be adequately brought in."
