Hodeida - Saba:

A meeting chaired by the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Ayyash Qahim, was held today in Hodeida Governorate to discuss the progress of the work of shipping companies in the Red Sea ports, in the presence of the President of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Zaid Al-Washli, the Undersecretary of the Governorate Muhammad Halisi, and the President of the Chamber of Shipping Hassan Abdullah.

The meeting dealt with the situation of shipping companies, and ways to enhance coordination with shipping and insurance companies, in addition to discussing the challenges resulting from the blockade and aggression. The meeting reviewed the efforts exerted to facilitate the import process, and the services provided to traders and companies to speed up the unloading of containers and ensure the flow of goods.

Minister Qahim stressed the importance of the private sector in supporting the national economy, and pointed to the continued work of the port of Hodeidah despite the repeated targeting by the aggression, stressing that these attempts will not achieve their goal of tightening the economic blockade on Yemen.

For his part, the Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation explained that the ports work according to organized mechanisms to ensure the efficiency of operations and to serve traders and importers without delay.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Chamber of Shipping was honored in recognition of his role in supporting maritime activity and enhancing the overall performance of shipping companies.
