A meeting held today in Ibb province on Tuesday focused on finalizing preparations for the transition to electronic collection of Cleanliness Fund revenues, set to begin in January 2024.

Chaired by Amin al-Wurafi, Secretary-General of the Province Local Council, the meeting included key figures such as the Deputy Governor Sadiq Hamza, the Directors of the Cleanliness Fund, Bilal al-Dar and Adel Omar, as well as other government officials.

Attendees discussed the technical aspects of the transition, including the necessary office and technical equipment. A committee was formed to implement the recommendations from the Head of the Executive Unit for Information and Systems at the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of completing the necessary preparations within ten days.

Al-Wurafi emphasized the significance of shifting from the traditional manual collection system to an electronic one, highlighting its potential to enhance transparency, integrity, and efficiency in the collection process. He urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to overcome challenges and ensure the successful implementation of this digital transformation.

In the meeting, Executive Director of the Cleanliness Fund and the Director of Financial Affairs Sadiq al-Arasi provided updates on the preparation of the necessary data, including guides for revenue vessels, accounts, and customer information.

He also discussed training efforts for staff involved in the electronic collection process, as well as updating the database and communication tools.

The transition to electronic payment for cleanliness fund revenues is seen as a crucial step in improving institutional processes, simplifying operations, and ensuring greater financial transparency.
