Emirati efforts to turn Socotra Island into spy base: Report

The United Arab Emirates is making strenuous efforts to seize full control of Socotra Island, all while the world watches, especially those who claim to be "legitimate" actors.
These so-called legitimate parties stand idly by, mere spectators, as the UAE carries out a series of shameful acts and introduces demographic and environmental changes to this precious island, known as the "pearl of the world’s islands."
These illegal actions go beyond mere occupation, edging towards the annexation of Socotra, as indicated by statements from various officials in the UAE.
The latest of these criminal acts against Socotra Island was the arrival of a group of Emirati officers early last week, led by Khalfan al-Mazrouei, accompanied by Israeli officers. Their mission is to implement a new plan to build an Emirati-Zionist military base on the island, which will also serve as an intelligence center linked to both Emirati intelligence and the Israeli Mossad.
According to reports, this base will include a landing strip for military aircraft, which will function as a key launchpad for reconnaissance missions and bombing operations targeting Yemeni territories.
This plan represents a serious violation of Yemeni sovereignty and threatens the sovereignty of several neighboring countries through the espionage and sabotage operations it is expected to carry out. Information has also emerged indicating that the Emirati delegation plans to open a branch of an Emirati bank on the island. This is part of a broader strategy to isolate Socotra and separate it from its mother country, the Republic of Yemen.
What the occupying state of the Emirates is doing is being carried out in coordination with Saudi Arabia, which is implementing a plan to divide and fragment Yemen. The goal is to weaken the country, making it easier for them to control and occupy strategic areas such as islands, ports, airports, and coastal cities.
This Saudi-Emirati plan is part of a larger framework aligned with the American project that aims to divide and dismantle countries in the region. In fact, what is happening now in Socotra is nothing less than an Emirati occupation, which is being shared with the Zionist entity. This collaboration forms a joint colonial project between the UAE and Israel to control the island, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
