A group of Russian and Chinese warships conducted anti-submarine warfare missions and exercises as part of joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific region.
A statement from the press office of the Russian Pacific Fleet said: ‘In the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean, warships of the Russian and Chinese navies carried out anti-submarine missions as part of joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific region, and the tactical group of these vessels performed the man oeuvre required to carry out a search for enemy submarines and take measures to protect the ships from them, with the participation of a Ka-27BL anti-submarine helicopter.’
From the Russian side, the large anti-submarine vessels Admiral Panteleev and Admiral Tributs of the Pacific Fleet participated in the tactical group, and from the Chinese Navy, the destroyers Xining and Wuxi, the frigate Lin Yi and the supply ship Taihu.
The Russian-Chinese warship group began conducting joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific region after participating in the ‘Cooperation 2024’ naval exercise.
During the execution of patrol missions, several combat training sessions were planned, including anti-submarine defence and maritime rescue.
