NEW YORK - (Saba): The work of the General Assembly of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly begins in New York today, Tuesday.

The work of the session, which is held this year under the title: "Leaving no one behind: working together to advance peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations", continues until Saturday, September 28, and concludes on Monday, September 30, 2024.

The current session of the General Assembly witnessed a historic event with the State of Palestine obtaining an official seat among the member states of the General Assembly for the first time during the opening session, in implementation of a decision issued last May.
