NEW YORK September 08. 2024 (Saba) - Belarusian Aryna Spalenka was crowned US Open champion after defeating American Jessica Pegula in the women's singles final 7-5, 7-5 last night.

Aryna Spalenka lost one set in New York on her way to the final with the top seeds exited, led by defending champion Goff and world number one Iga Chiantik.

The Belarusian shone after being sidelined by injury mid-season and missed Wimbledon and the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Second seed Spalenka won her third Grand Slam title, having previously won the Australian Open twice.
