SANA'A August 31. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting at Safer Exploration and Production Company, chaired by the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir, discussed on Saturday the company's activities, the difficulties facing its work and ways to address them during the next stage.
In the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals Mohammed Al-Najjar, the company's director, Dr. Idris Al-Shami, reviewed some of the measures implemented by the company, and possible interventions. He pointed to the importance of carrying out periodic maintenance work for any equipment related to the oil and minerals sector, including the floating tank Safer, which was unloaded from crude oil to the alternative ship "Yemen".
If the necessary maintenance is not done for the Safer, it will be at risk of sinking, he said. "As for the ship (Yemen), there is a foreign crew of the United Nations and a Yemeni crew who has been trained and can manage the operation in the ship and will be officially received, which is the largest ship currently and will be the property of the Republic of Yemen," he said.
The Minister of Oil and Minerals stressed the importance of strengthening the company's efforts and activities, and paying attention to qualifying Yemeni crews to receive and manage the ship and continue to carry out periodic maintenance work for it.
He valued the efforts of the cadres working in the company and their continuation in performing their duties despite the circumstances that the country is going through as a result of the continued aggression and blockade. Stressing keenness to provide possible facilities to support the company's cadres in carrying out the tasks entrusted to them.
The Minister pointed to the importance of concerted efforts and teamwork to help overcome difficulties.
