BEIRUT August 28. 2024 (Saba) - Hezbollah has affirmed that the sacrifices made by the resistance, along with the Lebanese and Syrian Arab armies, succeeded in defeating Takfiri terrorists along Lebanon's borders and achieved what it describes as the "second liberation" following the earlier expulsion of the Zionist enemy from southern Lebanon.
In a statement marking the seventh anniversary of this second liberation, Hezbollah emphasized that August 28 commemorates the victory of Lebanon, its people, army, and resistance over armed Takfiri groups.
This date, according to the party, is significant for reinstating true national unity and offers valuable lessons in resisting aggression and occupation.
The statement further noted that the war to liberate the outskirts from Takfiri groups, which had spread corruption and threatened Lebanon’s security as well as regional stability, was a critical step against the Zionist-American project.
This year’s anniversary is observed amidst ongoing support for the Palestinian resistance in the wake of the Al-Aqsa flood, with Hezbollah reaffirming its commitment to continue this path of resistance and support.
