GAZA August 21. 2024 (Saba) - The spokeswoman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Louise Wateridge, confirmed on Wednesday that the people of Gaza are living while waiting for certain death.
Louise Wateridge said death "seems to be the only certainty" for the 2.4 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where "nowhere is safe" due to the relentless Zionist bombardment.
Wateridge, who has been visiting the Gaza Strip for two weeks, said she testifies to the scale of the humanitarian crisis, the fear of death, and the spread of disease as the war continues.
Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, who is regularly targeted by Zionist airstrikes, stated that "there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip, the situation is tragic."
"We face unprecedented challenges in terms of disease spread and hygiene, in part because of the Zionist blockade of the Strip, and even schools are no longer a safe place, as it seems like you are always a few blocks away from the front lines now." She added.
The UNRWA spokeswoman also pointed out that an increasing number of Gazans, tired of responding to the Zionist army's continuous orders to evacuate, are reluctant to move again from one place to another. She continued: "They feel that they are being chased in a closed loop, where movement is difficult, especially in light of the heat and the presence of children, the elderly and the disabled."
