SANA'A August 19. 2024 (Saba) - The Undersecretary of Sana'a Governorate for Services Affairs - Deputy Chairman of the Emergency Committee in the governorate, Fares Al-Kahali, inspected on Monday the effects of rainwater torrential rains in some streets and entrances in the Ablas area, Hamdan District.
Al-Kahali and some officials were briefed on the effects of floods resulting from rainfall at the entrances to the area and the intersection of the main road linking Sanaa governorate to Al-Mahwit governorate.
They were also briefed on some torrential streams and rainwater drainage channels in the region, and the ongoing work to reduce flood damage, represented in the stacking of streets implemented by community initiatives in coordination with the Executive Unit for Projects in the governorate.
The visitors stressed the importance of removing the remnants of the floods to protect public streets and roads, remove harm to citizens, preserve the environment and the aesthetic and civilized appearance of the region, and alleviate the suffering of citizens during the rainy season.
They stressed the need to continue the work of removing waste and dust and opening torrential streams, channels, and ferries, and assigning an engineering team to do so and take appropriate measures to reduce damage and the formation of swamps that may cause the spread of epidemics and damage to the environment and the population.
