MOSCOW August 16. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Friday the elimination of 2,860 Ukrainian soldiers and the destruction of 41 tanks, 276 armored vehicles, four air defense platforms, and six rocket launchers, including three American "HIMARS", in Kursk, which was subjected to a Ukrainian attack.
The ministry said in a statement the Russian "Northern" forces repelled an attack on the border Russkie Borishny, and also repelled an attack launched by a group reinforced with five armored vehicles on the town of Gordievka.
It indicated that its forces destroyed groups that tried to penetrate Russian territory west of the city of Anastasivka and southeast of the town of Kawchuk, and eliminated Ukrainian groups that infiltrated the areas of Snagosty, Mirny, Kozachny Lukhnya, Korynevo, Plekhovo, and Pushkarny.
The losses of Kiev's forces within 24 hours amounted to 220 soldiers, 19 tanks and armored vehicles, three American "HIMARS" rocket launchers, two loading vehicles, and two heavy artillery.
The enemy's losses on the Kursk axis since the start of its attack on Kursk on August 6 amounted to 2,860 soldiers, 41 tanks, 276 armored vehicles of various types, 102 vehicles, four air defense platforms, six rocket launchers including three American "HIMARS", 22 artillery pieces, and three electronic warfare stations.
