NEW YOUR August 14. 2024 (Saba) - Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky accused the United States of preventing and obstructing "any action" in favor of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and that it has taken the UN Security Council hostage.
Sputnik News Agency quoted Polyansky as saying during a Security Council meeting: "Because of our American colleagues' flattery of Israel, the Council has so far, unfortunately, failed to develop a coherent response to the escalating crisis in the Middle East."
