NEW YORK August 14. 2024 (Saba) - The Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, said that the Zionist bombing of the Tabi'een School in Gaza City is the fiercest on a school sheltering displaced people in the Strip, noting that the situation is catastrophic as there is no safe place in Gaza Strip due to the Zionist bombing.
DiCarlo explained during a briefing to the Security Council last night that the health system in Gaza Strip is almost unable to function in light of the scarcity of medical supplies and great concerns for relief teams, in addition to the impossibility of implementing the vaccination system.
"The killing and destruction in Gaza Strip must end," she stressed.
“Here we are again, in the wake of another horrific episode of this brutal war in Gaza,” Acting Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Joyce Msuya said during the briefing.
“We are horrified by the Israeli airstrike on Tabi'een School in the Daraj neighbourhood of Gaza City last Saturday, which was sheltering hundreds of displaced families, many of whom had moved there due to recent Israeli evacuation orders.
The strike was carried out during dawn prayers.”
