BAGHDAD August 12. 2024 (Saba) - An Iraqi security source said on Monday that the sound of an explosion heard by residents of southern Baghdad at dawn on Monday was the result of a sound bomb thrown in an abandoned area.
"Alsumaria News" website quoted the source as saying that the explosion was caused by finding a sound bomb thrown in an abandoned area adjacent to the international highway towards Babil Governorate.
The source added that the sound of the explosion came after the aforementioned sound bomb was detonated under control by the engineering effort without any significant injuries.
It is noteworthy that in late July, an Iraqi security source reported that three people were killed and four others were injured in explosions, the nature of which is not yet known, that occurred in sites belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces in Babil Governorate.
