SANA'A August 06. 2024 (Saba) - The chairmanship of the Shura Council convened in Sana'a on Tuesday under the leadership of Council Chairman Mohammed al-Eidaroos.

The meeting included a review of a proposal by the Chairman of the Local Authority and Services Committee, Abdullah Majidi', concerning a scientific symposium on enhancing private sector contributions to infrastructure and energy projects using the "BOT" system.

The Council approved the symposium program and tasked the committee with collaborating with the General Secretariat and the Yemeni Center for Legal Studies and Rights to prepare for its implementation.

Additionally, the Council discussed a report by the Political, Foreign Relations, and Expatriates Committee on the activities of Yemeni and Islamic communities and global activists in highlighting the injustices faced by the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples. Committee Chairman Eng. Lutfi al-Jarmouzi presented indicators and statistics on the solidarity activities conducted by these communities.

The Shura Council praised the efforts of the National Team for External Communication at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in engaging with community members worldwide and acknowledged the committee's work in preparing the report.

The Council also commended the participation of Yemeni communities in protests against the US-Saudi coalition's actions in Yemen and the Israeli occupation in Palestine, highlighting the role of America and Britain in supporting the Zionist aggression.

The meeting included a review of the Community Committee's report on the Council members' activities during Muharram, which detailed 333 activities, including field visits, community issue resolutions, and participation in official and public events.

The Council emphasized the importance of continuing and increasing field and community activities to address societal needs and support the Palestinian people.

A presentation by the Rights and Freedoms Committee's rapporteur, Nabil Al-Hammadi, and committee member Abdulmalik al-Qaifi, covered the results of a field visit to the Yemen Future Association and the War Disabled Association, supervised by the Ministry of Defense's Social Welfare Department.

The visit aimed to identify challenges faced by the associations and develop proposals to improve their performance.

The Chairmanship praised the Social Welfare Department's efforts in caring for the war wounded and the committee's dedication to its tasks. The Council reviewed and approved the implementation of previous meeting resolutions and the topics on the current agenda.
