SANA'A August 03. 2024 (Saba) – The activities of the National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products "Third Season" will be launched in Sana'a tomorrow, Sunday, in Sabeen Park under the slogan "Yemen the home of honey".
The festival, organized by the Honey Unit of the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation with community contribution, aims to promote Yemeni honey, revive its status, market Yemeni brands of this cash crop globally, as well as enhance its role in economic growth and reach self-sufficiency with its products.
The festival enjoys wide participation by honey associations, producers, beekeepers, and honey marketers from several governorates.
The festival's six-day activities also include scientific and cultural sessions and seminars on honey productivity, moderated by experts and researchers in the field of honey production, in addition to organizing a developmental and awareness theater on the objectives of the festival.
Emphasis will be placed on raising awareness of the importance of keeping pace with developments and modern technology in the production and marketing of Yemeni honey, in addition to keeping pace with and promoting this product, and raising awareness of the need to consume local honey within the daily dietary pattern of the community.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture - Deputy Chairman of the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, was briefed today on the final preparations and arrangements related to the festival.
During the visit, Dr. Al-Rubai listened to an explanation from the Executive Director of the festival, Saddam Al-Ashmouri, on the completion of arrangements and preparations to start launching the opening of the activities of the National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products "Third Season".
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture praised the level of equipment for holding the festival's events and activities, as well as completing the arrangements for receiving participants and other equipment related to the honey products exhibition within the festival's activities.
He called on various media outlets and influencers through social media platforms to interact with the festival's events and activities in a way that contributes to preserving the historical heritage of honey production and marketing it in an optimal manner, showing Yemeni honey in a manner commensurate with its high quality, and promoting it locally and abroad.
