HODEIDA August 03. 2024 (Saba) – Five Yemeni fishermen on Saturday returned to Hodeida's fishing port after being detained and tortured in Saudi aggression prisons for over ten days.

Port director Mohammed al-Tawil reported a recent increase in such kidnappings and urged the international community to address the plight of Yemeni fishermen.

The fishermen recounted being captured by a Saudi patrol while fishing in Yemeni waters.

They were held on Farasan Island for four days, then moved to solitary confinement in Jizan where they endured beatings, starvation, and harsh interrogation for six days.

Five of their companions remain imprisoned.
