SANA'A August 03. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning predicted very heavy and varying thunderstorms in several governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to the weather forecast issued by the center, a copy of which was received by Saba, heavy thunderstorms accompanied by downward winds and hail are expected in the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Hodeida, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhalea and parts of Sana'a governorate and the Tihama Plain.

Thunderstorms of varying intensity are likely in parts of Amran, Al-Bayda, West Al-Jawf, and Marib governorates, Lahj Heights, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramawt, Al-Mahra and parts of the southern coasts.

The center reported that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured in some weather stations was as follows: Hodeidah: 52.2 mm, Ibb: 21.5, Al-Dhalea: 17.7, Saada: 15.4, Al-Mahwit: 10.5, Taiz: 9.4, Hajjah: 6.8 mm.

Thunderstorms between medium and heavy inside and outside the monitoring stations fell on parts of the western mountainous heights, the Tihama plain, the western and southern coasts, and parts of the heights of Abyan, Shabwa Hadramawt and Al-Mahra.

The center urged citizens in areas where rain is expected to take caution and caution against being in the stomachs of valleys and torrential streams, thunderstorms, strong downward winds, and hail.

Motorists were warned of a decrease in horizontal visibility as a result of rainfall, the formation of low clouds, fog, or water mist on mountain roads, and rockslides.

The Center called on the relevant official authorities to take the necessary measures and measures to protect lives and property and to follow up on the bulletins and reports issued by it.
