GAZA August 02. 2024 (Saba) -The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned on Friday evening the arrest by the Zionist enemy authorities of the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri after delivering the Friday sermon and mourning the martyr Mujahid Ismail Haniyeh from the pulpit of Al-Aqsa.
Hamas said in a statement that the arrest and interrogation of Sheikh Sabri "is a direct attack on our scholars and religious authorities, with the aim of absenting leaders and influential national and religious figures who defend the Arabism of Quds and the Islamism of Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Hamas held the Zionist enemy fully responsible for the safety of Sheikh Sabri and the physical or moral harm he could suffer.
It demanded the immediate release of Sheikh Sabri, and an effective Arab and Islamic action to condemn his arrest, stop the blatant Zionist interference in the affairs of Al-Aqsa, and protect his imams and preachers from the violations of the occupation.
The police of the Zionist enemy arrested, on Friday, the preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, who is 84 years old, after storming his home in the neighborhood of Al-Sawaneh in occupied Jerusalem, after mourning the head of the political bureau of Hamas, the martyr Ismail Haniyeh, during the Friday sermon.
Sheikh Sabri said in his obituary for the martyr Ismail Haniyeh during the Friday sermon: "We ask Allah his mercy and to live in his spacious paradise with the prophets and the righteous."
Worshipers chanted Allah Akbar at the obituary of Sheikh "Sabri" martyr "Haniyeh", and chanted "soul with blood we redeem you, martyr."
