ANKARA July 31. 2024 (Saba) - The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned on Wednesday the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in a "despicable" operation.

The official Anadolu Agency quoted the ministry in a statement as saying: "It is clear once again that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has no intention of achieving peace."

It added: "The attack aims to expand the scope of the war in Gaza to a regional level."
