VIENTIANE July 27. 2024 (Saba) - The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) condemned all attacks against Palestinian civilians , infrastructure and the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip, which has been witnessing a devastating Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023.
The association said in a statement issued by the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in the Lao capital, Vientiane: "We condemn all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, which have led to alarming numbers of deaths, especially women , children, and restricted access to food, water and other basic needs, and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza."
The statement called on all parties to work towards a two-state solution in accordance with international law, relevant UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.
It stressed the need for continued humanitarian access to Gaza.
It stated that the foreign ministers of the League of Arab States "recognize" the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which confirmed that the Israeli occupation is illegal and must end immediately.
