Hodeida Governor praises efforts of civil defense teams in extinguishing fire in oil tanks

HODEIDA July 23. 2024 (Saba) - Hodeida Governor Mohamed Ayyash Qahim praised the efforts of the civil defense teams and sectors that contributed to extinguishing the large fire in the oil tanks in the port of Hodeida as a result of the Israeli aggression.

In a statement to Saba, Qahim noted the role of the commander of the fifth military region in supporting all efforts to contain this fire and the repercussions resulting from targeting service facilities.

Work is underway at a high pace to receive and unload ships at the port of Hodeida, and to take measures that would sustain navigational activity and provide the Yemeni people's needs of goods, he said.

He praised the efforts of the leadership of the Red Sea Ports Corporation and the sectors operating in the port of Hodeidah, and the treatments taken after the Israeli aggression targeted the port and destroyed a number of its bridge cranes, and the restoration of work within 24 hours.

The Governor of Hodeidah also praised the role of the Ministry and the Electricity Corporation and the technical teams stationed in the field, which made great efforts to reintroduce the Ras Katneeb station, which was bombed, into service, and to provide electricity from alternative sources following the Zionist targeting of the central station and its mawzat tanks.

He warned the Zionist enemy of the consequences of arrogance and persistence in its crimes against the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples. He stressed that the Yemeni armed forces will respond to the Israeli aggression at the appropriate time and place, and the enemy must be well aware that it has become in open war.

Qahim stressed that Yemen's honorable historical position in support of the Palestinian people and resistance cannot budge and will not be intimidated by the Zionist raids, no matter how persistent and criminal the usurping entity is.
