IBB July 15. 2024 (Saba) - The Office of Public Works and Roads in Ibb Province, a project to make concrete bumpers on Naqil Samara roads in Al-Makhader District, “first phase” from the implementing agency.
During the handover, in the presence of the head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent delegation, Tamer Ramadan, the director of the Yemeni Red Crescent branch in the province, Al-Tayeb Al-Mutawakel, and the director of Al-Makhader Directorate, Nabil Al-Awadi, the director of the works office in the province, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, explained that the first phase of the project, which costs $40,000, funded by the Red Crescent, comes within the framework of Rapid response projects to reduce road disasters, implemented by the Public Works Office.
He pointed out that the first phase of the project included the implementation of five concrete buffers in dangerous places and slopes in Al-Naqil, and work is currently underway to complete two others.
Al-Shami stated that the bumpers will contribute to reducing traffic accidents as a result of turns and slides in Al-Naqil. He stressed that preparations are currently being made to implement the second phase of the project, which includes implementing seven bumpers in Al-Naqil in accordance with the studies and specifications that are being prepared in this aspect.
He appreciated the Red Crescent initiative in project financing .
