BAGHDAD July 15. 2024 (Saba) - The national youth basketball team ended its campaign in the West Asian Championship currently being held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, by defeating its Palestinian counterpart with a score of 73/66.
With this result, the national team achieved fifth place in the tournament in which six teams participated.
The national team player, Ahmed Amin Hamil, won the best player award in his meeting with his Palestinian counterpart, after he presented an outstanding level, becoming the highest scoring player with thirty points.
The national youth basketball team, which is participating in the West Asian Championship with the support of the Yemeni-Omani Telecommunications Company YOU, lost its first match to its Iraqi counterpart, host of the tournament, with a score of 45/71, before losing its second match to the Iranian team 33/98.
