SANA'A July 14. 2024 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Ahmed al-Mutawakil oversaw the swearing-in ceremony of 13 judges from the graduating class, held in the presence of Supreme Court President Judge Dr. Issam al-Samawi and Judicial Inspection Authority Head Judge Ahmed al-Shahari on Sunday.
The event marked the culmination of their training at the Higher Judicial Institute, following a council decision to distribute them across several first-instance courts in various governorates.
Following the administration of the legal oath, Judge Al-Mutawakil underscored the importance for newly appointed judges to uphold the integrity of their profession by administering justice with dedication, sincerity, and a profound sense of responsibility before Allah.
He emphasized that justice is upheld through the dedication and integrity of judges, especially during this critical period in the country's history.
In his remarks, Supreme Court President Judge Dr. Issam al-Samawi emphasized the necessity for judicial firmness while avoiding haste or recklessness, urging judges to be vigilant against any actions that may compromise their impartiality, particularly those involving assistant clerks.
"We celebrate this milestone with you, recognizing your legal qualifications," Judge al-Samawi affirmed, outlining essential guidelines for judges to uphold and respect legal procedures and deadlines.
The Supreme Court President also cautioned against behaviors that could undermine the judiciary's independence and fairness when presiding over cases.".
