MOSCOW July 09. 2024 (Saba) - Russian forces made progress in their attacks on the front line in Zaporozhye, and inflicted heavy losses on the Ukrainian forces' defense line towards Orekhov in the province.

On Tuesday, Sputnik news agency quoted Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye Board of Directors and head of the People's Movement (We Are With Russia), as saying: "As a result of the intense strikes carried out by our aviation and artillery on the front lines, the enemy's defense line in the direction of Orekhov was severely damaged."

He added: "Our forces prevent Ukrainian militants from building reliable fortifications and defensive positions here."

Zaporozhye Province is located in the lower reaches of the Dnieper River, and became part of Russia after a referendum held in September of 2022. Currently, more than 70 percent of the province is under Russian control, while the rest, including the regional center (the city of Zaporozhye), is under Russian control.It is Ukrainian forces.
