MOSCOW July 08. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed, on Monday, Russia's refusal to engage with the United States of America in negotiations on arms control due to Washington's policies against Moscow.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said during a press conference: "Moscow is unable to hold a dialogue on arms control. Washington and any country that openly wants to inflict a strategic defeat on us, the New START Strategic Arms Reduction Agreement will end soon," noting that the agreement was suspended due to the American side's refusal to negotiate its extension.
He added: "The Americans have not clearly shown any change for the better in their policies, and they insist on continuing the policy of intimidating Russia in an unlimited manner," indicating that if these policies are changed, there can be a dialogue on strategic stability.
