WASHINGTON July 07. 2024 (Saba) - The Director of the CIA, William Burns, is set to travel to Doha next week to participate in negotiations regarding the conflict in Gaza."
An American report, citing Zionist sources, said on Sunday that the meeting will be attended by the Qatari prime minister, foreign minister Mohammed al-Thani, the head of the Zionist intelligence service (Mossad) David Barnea, and the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Abbas Kamel.
According to the Reuters news agency, published on Friday, a source in the Zionist negotiating team, there is "a real chance at the moment to reach an agreement". This reflects the significant change in the Zionist position compared to the previous positions of "Israel", and its rejection of a ceasefire or even the introduction of humanitarian aid.
Hamas had repeated its demand to end the war in exchange for the release of prisoners, but Netanyahu categorically refused, insisting that the war would not end until it achieved its goals of destroying Hamas ' military capabilities and returning all prisoners held in Gaza.
The Haaretz newspaper also quoted an unnamed foreign source as saying that" Israel " has made new demands that may lead to obstructing the ceasefire negotiations and the exchange of prisoners, and prolonging them.
Diplomatic efforts between Washington and Qatar to reach a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange in Gaza have intensified over the past few days, as the US administration is trying hard to reach an agreement before the presidential elections in November.
