MOSCOW July 04. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that a MiG-29 air superiority fighter of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was destroyed at Dolzhentsevo air base in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
The destruction was attributed to a strike from the Russian Iskander short-range mobile ballistic missile system.
According to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, the crew operating Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile system executed a missile strike on the apron of Dolzhentsevo Airport.
As a consequence of this strike, a MiG-29 fighter aircraft belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces was destroyed, along with air-to-surface weapons that were present.
Additionally, vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian Aviation Engineering Service were also targeted and destroyed in this attack by Russian forces.
This incident underscores the ongoing military hostilities and the use of advanced weaponry in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
