SANA'A June 30. 2024 (Saba) - The caretaker Foreign Minister, Engineer Hisham Sharaf, met with the newly appointed Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA), and the newly appointed Deputy Head of the Redeployment Coordination Committee, Mari Yamashita.
In the meeting, Minister Sharaf affirmed that the leadership in Sana'a is keen on international security and peace in the region, especially in the Red Sea region, Bab al-Mandab, and the Arabian Sea.
He pointed out that the targeting of ships by the Yemeni armed forces is limited only to ships owned by the Israeli enemy or those heading to and from occupied Palestinian ports until the Zionist military aggression is stopped , humanitarian, food, medicine and fuel aid enters Gaza Strip without any obstacles.
Minister Sharaf added that the Sana'a government is committed to implementing the Stockholm Agreement, and is keen to reach a comprehensive, honorable and fair political settlement for the Yemeni people that preserves all their rights , takes into account their requirements for compensation in the economic and humanitarian aspects.
In turn, the UN official explained that she would work with the mission’s staff to contribute to the return of security and stability to Yemen.
